Remember sniglets? Do you have any favorites? Have you ever made up your own word? (Now's as good a time as any.)
My sister started using this term that she made up last year. The term is Riddick (pronounced rid dick). Basically it is short for ridiculous and is used to discrible things that are incredible or amazing.
ie, That Animal Crossing game is riddick!
What's the nerdiest thing about you?
I prefer the word geek cause I am neither social inept nor unattractive.
a) I'm a web junkie
- Did someone say web 2.0?
- Really who needs 3 blogs (vox, pj and pj2)?
- a my-space account (which also has a blog)
- a livejournal account
- a flickr account
- a friendster account
- a gamespot account (which also has a blog)
- a video podcast and who knows what else.
- plus a number of other cool things that have fallen off the radar
b) I'm a Gadget whore, (maybe not the most recent and top of the line stuff, most of it is a "want" as opposed to a "need")
- Digital SLR
- Nokia Cameraphone that I use for posting
- Powerbook
- iPod Nano
- DVD recorder
- xbox
- Nintendo DS lite
- nevermind the wishlist of items that should be on here.
If you take away all the above.. I dunno where I would be. You have to wonder how we ever survived without all these things when we were growing up. And it's scary to think there is a generation of kids who don't know what the world was like before these things came into existence.
PS: how wrong is it to post a picture of myself in a Wordpress T-shirt on my vox? I'd gladly pimp myself out in six apart schwag if I had some.
PPS: I didn't really answer the question did I?
Over the weekend I discovered the joys of playing DS multiplayer games with my sister and my cousins. My one cousin is obsessed with the minigame "Wanted" on the new Super Mario Bros. Her top score was 166. I got a little obsessive too.
So currently, I have the New Super Mario Bros, Brain Age and Harry Potter- Goblet of Fire (which was a gift).
Mario Kart DS is definitely on my wishlist (I will probably get it before the week is up)
Other games I am considering are
- Nintendogs
- Animal Crossing
- And possibly another racing game maybe in the Need for Speed series. (My sister says the burnout game for DS doesn't live up to it's console counterparts)
My SlapDash cohorts, Jay and Michelle, got me a DS lite for my birthday. It definitely makes me feel 23 instead of 32. Andy stopped by at my parent's place for the celebrations and picked me up a used Harry Potter game too. Joey and Wendy also stopped in and sponsored my Smoke Free Photojunkie campaign. It was nice to be around family for my birthday especially with all the kids running around. It really brings some perspective back into your life.
Thanks to everyone who left comments on Vox, on MySpace and on email wishing my a Happy Birthday. It's been a pleasant couple of days.
Here’s the unrealistic wishlist
- Canon 5D… mmmm full sensor DSLR. Enough Said
- Canon SD700 IS… a kick ass slim point and shoot, for those moments when you don’t wanna carry a DSLR
- Sony PSP… because it’s cool, could store my fave pictures and SlapDash videos for show and tell
- Nintendo DS Lite… because i <3 Mario
- A new Fossil Watch… I’ve had two so far and have been eyeing this yellow one.
- Some sort of PDA… lets get organized
- MacBook Pro… do I really need to explain this one?
This is what I will settle for.
- A donation to the Smoke Free Photojunkie Campaign (Current total is $300)
- For you to blog about My Toronto Includes on your site
- Even better, to fill out the form and participate in the project
- Check out SlapDash
Jerrold was supposed to be my first subject that I was gonna shoot for the series, but he choose to be shot at a Japanese Restuarant, so we had some logistics to work out. The staff at Nami were very accomodating and the sushi was delicious.
