On Friday night, Jay and I went to see "Lord of the Rings" the musical. It was it's final weekend here in Toronto, before heading over the pond to London.
Seeing it reminded me of how much I love Musicals. I must go see more musicals.
It's hard to tell in this shot, but there is a sapling that I'm growing from burying 1000 bells in the ground (That's the currency in the game). Of to the left (my character's right) is a second sapling that I have planted.
Hopefully in a couple of days I'll be growing money from trees.
Enjoying some popcorn at the baseball game on Friday night, where the Jay beat out the Kansas City Royals.
Over the weekend I discovered the joys of playing DS multiplayer games with my sister and my cousins. My one cousin is obsessed with the minigame "Wanted" on the new Super Mario Bros. Her top score was 166. I got a little obsessive too.
So currently, I have the New Super Mario Bros, Brain Age and Harry Potter- Goblet of Fire (which was a gift).
Mario Kart DS is definitely on my wishlist (I will probably get it before the week is up)
Other games I am considering are
- Nintendogs
- Animal Crossing
- And possibly another racing game maybe in the Need for Speed series. (My sister says the burnout game for DS doesn't live up to it's console counterparts)
My SlapDash cohorts, Jay and Michelle, got me a DS lite for my birthday. It definitely makes me feel 23 instead of 32. Andy stopped by at my parent's place for the celebrations and picked me up a used Harry Potter game too. Joey and Wendy also stopped in and sponsored my Smoke Free Photojunkie campaign. It was nice to be around family for my birthday especially with all the kids running around. It really brings some perspective back into your life.
Thanks to everyone who left comments on Vox, on MySpace and on email wishing my a Happy Birthday. It's been a pleasant couple of days.

One of the great things about the food court in Yorkdale Mall is the large domed area in the centre of it. If you are lucky enough to get a seat in this area, you'll be rewarded with conversations from the other end of the room as sounds travel up into the dome and back down to your ears. It's fun to sit and listen in on snippets of conversation. It's also a fun way to release your secrets into the world for someone to hear without ever meeting that person.
Last week, I received my copy of Idea in Stone, by Hamish MacDonald. The book features an author photo by your truly, but the amazing thing about this book is that it was written, designed and produced (printed and bound) by the author. How's that for DIY.
So I created a bunch of themes for my Nokia 6265i using Phone Director,which allows me to update my contacts, create themes and does a bunch of other connectivity between my Mac and the phone. All of the themes include a photo and an MP3 clip. This one features the MP3 of Promiscuous Girl by Nelly Furtado as a ringtone and Istoica as my wallpaper.
